The Day After Ragnarok: One Snake Cult, One Ranger
It's unclear if vampires have always been around and simply hid their presence or if they came into being thanks to the influx of magical energy from Serpentfall. It is known that vampires' power varies greatly. Fledglings, or transitional vampires, have no special abilities during the day but most of their sires' powers and weaknesses at night. Standard vampires must avoid sunlight at all costs, and are very difficult to harm, save by some magics, fire, and the time-honored method of a stake through the heart. Master vampires or vampire lords are very rare but believed to be incredibly powerful, with fewer of the weaknesses we associate with vampires and even more powers.
Vampires are known to maintain a strict hierarchy, though power plays are common, especially if a vampire lord is seen as weak or overly cruel.
Vampires are also known to engage in what is effectively a cold war with the Serpentfolk, as they are both effectively apex predators who prey on the same food source – humans.
