The Day After Ragnarok: One Snake Cult, One Ranger
The Snake People, or Serpentfolk, are believed to be a mix of an ancient race and newly mutated creatures as the result of Serpentfall. They are highly social creatures among themselves but view all other intelligent life as food. They generally remain in hiding in secure buildings or underground lair. They are often found using snake-worshipping cults of normal humans for resources from the outside world.
Purebloods, the weakest of the Serpentfolk, can pass as normal humans. They have a form of mind-control where they can mentally dominate others by maintaining eye contact. In combat, they may take on more obvious snake-like traits, usually scales and an unhinged jaw with poison fangs. Purebloods handle most contact with the outside world and often recruit new members to their cults.
Serpentfolk maintain what is effectively a cold war with Vampires, as they are both apex predators competing for the same food source – humans.
